Here are the three questions on my mind going into Matchday 12 for FC Cincinnati's match against the New York Red Bulls. Again. And again. And again. Buy Red Bull.

Will Yuya Kubo start up top?

Last week we finally saw Kubo and Locadia play up top together and it looked great! When they got the ball that is. But Kubo feeding Locadia and Locadia having another actual goal-scoring threat to occupy defenders. The bigger issue is the midfield's inability to feed the offense, but Kubo up top was not the issue. Will Jaap Stam see it the same way?

How will a Richey fill in for Tyton?

FCC's struggles this year have not really been the fault of the defense, and certainly not on the goalkeeper. Przemyslaw Tyton will miss this match having traveled to Poland this week to attend to a family matter, meaning he is in quarantine. Tyton has played admirably. In eight matches this year he's secured 5 clean-sheets. That's good enough for second best in the league after Columbus's Room. For many fans, Richey out-played Tyton in 2019, but Tyton has shined under Stam. Can Richey make a case for the starting job or is he just filling in for Tyton.

Can FC Cincinnati counter attack?

One of the biggest issues with this FC Cincinnati team is the inability to counter-attack. When the team is spending so much time defending, they need to be able to quickly convert the ball into attack. However with Medunjanin and de Jong in the midfield they've lacked the speed to pull it off. With Cruz not appearing on the injury list, Amaya coming back from yellow card suspension, FCC has a lot more speed available to them in the midfield tonight. Hopefully this leads to more scoring opportunities.
